Artillery Bastion was built in the 17th century for defense against the Russians and the Swedes. It decayed during the 18th century and during the 19th century it was used as an orphanage. Later on, it was used as a rubbish dump which forces the ceiling to collapse in 1828. The Artillery Bastion is a historic site which generates the best echoes in the city. There are also medieval cannons and armor at this site.
