Clervaux is a very picturesque town set in a scenic setting. Most of the town’s buildings have white walls and grey roofs. The Castle of Clervaux is the most dominating structure. Earlier, a royal residence, the castle now houses government offices and a couple of war museums. The most notable attraction of the castle is a permanent photo exhibition called ‘The Family of Man’, which is a collection of pictures by several photographers.
The Benedictine Abbey holds an exposition of artefacts which portray the customs and sacred rites followed by the locals over the years. Next to the Abbey is a cross-shaped structure constructed to commemorate the exploits of the town’s fighters.
The surrounding area provides many opportunities for outdoor activities: walking trails in the mountains and even mountain biking. Clervaux is also a good base to explore the other towns in the district.
