Things to Do in Mdina: attractions to See in Mdina

Mdina: Attractions and more...

The Cathedral of St Paul has intricate marble inlay work on its floors and beautiful painted walls. The Cathedral Museum is home to several interesting collections including art, prints and some historic archives. The unique Gothic-style Palazzo Santa Sophia and the Norman House, today a specialty Maltese restaurant, are the other sites worth a visit.

Mdina still bears the semblance of a medieval town and is home to several beautiful palaces, churches and other structures especially from the Middle Ages like the French-style Vilhena Palace and the imposing Inguanez Palace which served as residence for royal guests. The medieval town’s original dungeons now serve as horror chambers to entertain visitors.

The walls surrounding the city provide a great view of the surrounding countryside and a large part of the island. Many cafes have been built on the top of the fortress.
