The Sanctuary of Our Lady of Mellieha has been an important worship site for years. Its most notable features are its roofed veranda and the painted fresco. Over the years, it has been expanded several times to accommodate the parish and thus several styles have been incorporated. The Parish Church Complex comprises several medieval cathedrals built on the hillside.
Mellieha Bay is the longest beach of the town and its shallow waters attract swimmers and boatmen alike. The town centre of Mellieha is the hub of all activity with many shops, restaurants and cafes lining the streets.
Popeye Village is located just outside the village. It was built as a set for the film Popeye; today, it houses museums displaying actual props and hosts puppet shows and fairs.
The feast of Our Lady of Victories is held from 30 August to 8 September. It includes firework displays, concerts, art exhibitions, folk singing and a religious procession.
