Valetta is home to many museums such as the National Museum of Archaeology, which displays centuries-old architectural discoveries, and the National Museum of Fine Arts, which has a collection of art and sculpture spanning several eras.
One of the prime attractions of Valletta is a tour of the old fortified city. A tour along the walls takes you through the bastions, alleyways and various interesting structures within the walls.
The St John’s Co-Cathedral is very grand with painted vaulted ceilings and marble tombs; it houses eight chapels, all richly decorated and adorned. The Palace of the Grandmaster used to serve as a royal residence; it is now used as an administrative seat for Malta. It also contains portraits and other art and a furniture and tapestry collection. The Casa Rocca Piccola still serves as a royal residence, but parts of the palace are open for public viewing.
