The spring months between April–June are a perfect time to visit Malta because of the lesser numbers of tourists and cheaper accommodation rates. The period between August–November is also ideal to escape the holiday crowds.

Typical Catholic feasts greet travellers when they come to Malta. The Carnival, a pre-Lenten season of celebration, starts three days before Ash Wednesday (with the largest festivities taking place in Valletta).
