Monaco-Ville, located on a promontory, is home to the Place du Palais which houses the Prince’s Palace and State Apartments. The Oceanographic Museum and Aquarium is a popular attraction. Other attractions include the Museum of Napoleonic Souvenirs and Collection of the Palace’s Historic Archives, the Wax Museum of the Princes of Monaco and the Monte Carlo Story, a show on Monaco’s history.
The industrial suburb of Fontvieille contains the Princess Grace Rose Garden. The Museum of Stamps and Coins features rare items from Monaco’s postal history. Prince Rainier III’s Private Collection of Classic Cars, with over 100 classic cars, the Naval Museum and the Zoological Terraces are also located here.
Monte Carlo is the playground for the wealthy and houses the casino and its gardens and deluxe hotels. Other attractions include Japanese Gardens and the National Museum of Dolls and Clockwork Exhibits of Yesteryear.
