Almost all of the popularity and beauty of Heerlen and its monuments and attractions is due to the architect Frits Peutz. First of all, the building in the city centre, known as the Glasspaleis (the Glass Palace), is surely the most interesting place of Heerlen and one of the most importants buildings of the entire Netherlands.
Today the Glasspaleis is a very important and active cultural centre, where art galleries, shows and exhibitions are continuously on view.
