What can I say, it's a beautiful city. There are so many bikes and people are open-minded. Go to the Van Gogh Museum and the Heineken Brewery, and then go for a bike ride, and then take a boat trip on the canals, and go take a look at vonderpark...

Well, siting here and talking about entertainment in Amsterdam seems absurd. It is the city of entertainment par excellence, and also you can have fun in the most incredible ways. The fun ranges from transgressive (the classic windows), to the nightlife and discos in the city center!

The pubs in central Amsterdam where the Dutch sing national songs are very nice. After having dinner at a Thai, take a walk along the canals, until you reach the unique and fascinating red light district. There is far more to see see than just the coffee shops.

I was in Amsterdam in October, and I do not recommend this period to visit the city. The only drawback of Amsterdam, in my opinion, is the climate. For those who wish to go there, I strongly recommend bringing a wind jacket, a hat and above all...an umbrella.

Amsterdam = bicycle: two wheels reign over everything and everyone! It's a city on a human scale, you can get around very easily on foot. Public transport is very efficient, trams and buses are especially good for getting around the city center, and the metro is useful for taking a trip out of the city.

Just having a quick look on the internet, you realize that hotels in Amsterdam are very expensive. In the centre, there wasn't anything for less than € 120 (without breakfast!) in a run-down 2-star hotel.

Van Dobben meatballs .. Meat Balls - a must-try.. Great restaurant with several types of meatball. Opposite Meatballs (Warmoestraat) ... there's the het Karbeel restaurant .... try the fondue .... if you are a cheese addict, it's not to be missed.

Good food, and the service was great. The waiters are very polite and the restaurants are clean and well-maintained. I would happily go back with my friends because it's a great place. The trip was relaxing and there were no problems at the airport. They're all very friendly and nice.

It's very well-organised for tourists. There are lots of old buildings to visit and in the city there are also several neighbourhoods to visit. It's a bit expensive but it's worth going. It you speak English you can get around without any problems.

Public transport is very efficient and the network covers the whole city! And if you want to go by foot, it's not too far from the main train station to the areas of interest. The whole city is well connected and it's easy to get to nearby villages: the trip out to the windmills was no trouble at all! I was very pleased!

Although the Dutch are always in short sleeves, by our standards it's quite "chilly". I went in November and my advice is to bring a warm hooded jacket because there are plenty of rain showers and lots of wind, which makes umbrellas quite useless. At night, however, all you need is a pair of pyjamas because the hotels are very well heated.

While you're in beautiful Amsterdam, take the opportunity to catch a bus and go around the countryside and the surrounding villages: as well as traditional windmills, there are the charming villages with wooden houses and a colourful fairytale atmosphere.

The best time to visit is during the summer when the temperature is acceptable and the days are long and you can enjoy a beautiful bike ride or lovely walks along the pretty canals. And why not spend evenings in a nice outdoor pub? The food is also excellent.

The best time to go, in my opinion, is between July and August because of the temperature. The important thing is to dress in layers, and always have an umbrella and raincoat with you. The weather sometimes changes suddenly, although the bad weather is usually over soon.

The reason that Amsterdam beats all other cities is the general laid back atmosphere of the place but yet everything works. It has all the facilities, open spaces, entertainment, museums, food, cafes, restaurants, and so on that most other cities have but on top of that is the lack of the frantic atmosphere of most other big cities. The people are friendly, relaxed, welcoming but yet it is a city which works well and one does not get the frustrations and inefficiencies of the other laid back cities. Amsterdam has the perfect, and unique, combination of laid back efficency.

Amsterdam is a nice old city with lots of entertainment and nightlife. Lots to see and good hotels to stay. A boot tour of the famous canals is a must. Then there are the vanGogh and Rijks museums. It is easy to get around with the city streetcars, metro and busses. There is also a direct train connection from the airport to downtown central station. Have a nice stroll at the canals and see all the lights. A walk through the red district can be interesting. Enjoy a drink at a terrace on it Rembrants square.

Amsterdam is great, but if you stay more than 3-4 days you should definitely visit the beautiful and enchanting Alkmaar Zanse Schans, the village of windmills. The atmosphere is fabulous and it feels surreal. The wooden houses, a few animals roaming wildly, the tulips in bloom, and more make it a dream vacation.

Great town, young, bright and sunny. I highly recommend you try to see it all, on foot. Every corner, every street, evokes strong feelings. Architecturally and culturally it's an explosion of beauty.

The "I Amsterdam card" - get one. You'll get vouchers to spend in the city, discounts and free entry to several museums and attractions and, depending on the type of card you get, free public transport in the centre.
