The Van Gogh Museum is situated in Museumplein between the Stedelijk and Rijksmuseum museums. The entrance is located at Paulus Potterstraat 7. It is open for the public daily from 10AM to 6PM and from 10AM to 9PM on Fridays.
As is indicative from the name, the museum mainly deals with the artworks of Van Gogh which is displayed in different timelines. Apart from the famed artist, it also showcases varied and rich collection of other 19th-Century artists.
Other exhibitions of the museum focuses on the apprenticeship of Van Gogh under the guidance of Anton Mauve, who himself was an established painter.
Every Friday night when the museum is open till late night, the museum transforms into a relaxed gathering place with activities like DJ's, video projections and a bar. Special lectures are organized on Sundays for those who want to know more about Van Gogh and his contemporaries.
The museum is also involved in variety of publishing programs.
