The Museum of Modern Art is housed in a villa; it displays an extensive Dutch art collection, most importantly a collection of Van Gogh. The gardens of the villa have been converted into a sculpture garden. The National Heritage Museum is an open air museum which portrays life in a Dutch village 200 years ago; windmills, craft shops, farmhouses etc are scattered over the area. The Historical Museum displays a range of relics found in architectural digs in the region.
The John Frost Bridge is an ordinary bridge with great symbolic significance as it has been built in place of the one destroyed during World War II when a small troop of the town staved off a German capture.
Burger’s Zoo, in the outskirts of the city, is home to hundreds of species; it also has a simulated desert environment and a small area built created like a rainforest. The Veluwezoom National Park lies just outside the city; this wooded area has many cycling and walking trails.
