There is no major health risks associated with travelling in Netherlands. No particular vaccines are required either. It is safe to drink tap water.

Netherlands is fairly safe place to travel to, though it is advisable for tourists to be cautious and not travel to lonely places in the night. One has to be careful of pick-pockets especially in central Amsterdam and at the central station. There is an increased risk of terrorist attacks; hence tourists must be alert in public places and tourists sites.

Tourists should also be careful of cons posing as policemen. On the pretext of conducting a search, these ‘policemen’ are known to have taken away money and other valuables of the unaware tourist. Therefore, visitors should be vigilant against such investigations. In case of any such enquiry, tourists should ask for proper identification or should insist on being accompanied to the nearest police station.
