A replica of an 18th-century ship-of-the-line is being constructed on shipyard De Delft. Six days per week you can see how this large ship is taking shape, slowly but surely.

LIFE AT SEA
The exhibition acquaints you with the construction, the history, life at sea, the Battle of Camperduin and much more. The ten-minute-long film ‘The many lives of De Delft’ will take you back to the 18th century for a while.

GANGWAY AND WORKSHOPS
From a gangway you can see into the various workshops where the parts for the ship are being made. Because people are not always at work in all workshops, monitors above the workshops screen short, informative films on the activities in the various workshops. An exposition along the gangway presents the items members of Scheveningen Diving Club Sirene have found in the shipwreck. These objects range from a plate to a piece of tarpaulin.

SMELL THE WATER
When you walk down the gangway you will come to the quay, where you can smell the water. The ship is being built on the quay, next to the pontoon with the timber stocks. The parts that have been constructed in the workshops are hoisted in place with the crane.
