Scheveningen is a seaside resort and is a part of The Hague. It is a district as well as sub district of The Hague region. The place is bestowed with sandy beaches, a Pier, an esplanade and a lighthouse. It also consists of a 1 km long nudist area. The place is fishing and a tourist area.  Wind surfing and kite boarding are some of the most popular activities that can be pursued on the beached of this town.

Duinoord, Statenkwartier, Belgisch Park, Oostduinen, Duindorp, Archipelbuurt, Van Stolkpark, Westbroekpark are main sub districts of included in the area. The Anglo Saxons were the first inhabitants of the place and the history dates back to around 1280. The main source of income of the town was fishing.  The population of town is approximately 23,000.

It is the place where the Battle of Scheveningen took place. The annual temperature of the town ranges from 0.8 to 23.05 degree centigrade.
