Tilburg is located in the southern part of Netherlands, close to Belgium. This city of approximately 201,000 inhabitants has a flourishing textile industry.
Tilburg lies in a green belt surrounded by forests and dense wooded areas. The city too is laid with several parks and gardens.
Tilburg has warm summers with August being the warmest month; the average temperature during summer is 25°C. During winters, the minimum temperature tends to hover around the freezing point.
Originally, the region served as pasture land for the farming communities there. Soon, the farmers started weaving the wool of their sheep; the wool industry developed rapidly earning the city the title of ‘the wool city of Netherlands’.
