Tourist Guide Zandvoort

Zandvoort, a town in the province of North Holland, is located in Netherlands. Known as one of the best beach resorts in Netherlands, Zandvoort is renowned for its 9-km long beach. With a population of not more than 16,000 inhabitants, the town is a favourite location among sea lovers.

Zandvoort has a maritime climate, characterised by warm summers and fairly cold winters. The best time to visit the town is during the summer months.

A former fishing village, Zandvoort was initially known as Sandevoerde and was under the French rule during the eighteenth century. The nineteenth century saw the region gaining popularity for its dune potatoes which led to the development of the tourism industry.   

The inhabitants of Zandvoort indulge in fishing and agriculture. Tourism is the main source of income in Zandvoort.
