Kristiansand has been connected to ‘continental Europe’ by sea and air. Kjevik, the domestic airport stands at the distance of 7 miles on the eastern side of city. Moreover, it has routes going towards Norwegian and European cities. Ferry Harbor, right from City center has routes for going to Hirtshals and Hanstholm (both located in Denmark). There are trains and buses connecting Kristiansand to the other cities in Norway as well.
Kristiansand is a home to main ship-building as well as repair facilities which go on to support ‘North Sea Oil Industry’ of Norway. Adjacent to this place lies HVDC Cross-Skagerak’s ‘static inverter park’.
Kristiansand has so much of ‘summer sunshine’. Winters might witness heavy snowfall owing to south-southeasterly winds.
