Oslo has much to offer in the way of public transit. It has a number of busses, ferries, local and inter-city trains, and the very extensive T-bane metro system. The T-bane is the largest metro in a city that is the size of Oslo, and it is expanding right along with the region.

The T-bane has six different lines that run throughout the city and its surrounding areas. All of the metro lines converge at Oslo Central Station (Jernbanetorget), where travelers and tourists are also able to go to find out more about getting around in Oslo.

If you’re in Oslo for a few days, you may want to purchase a 7-day transit pass, as it will prove to be convenient, and you will not have to continue purchasing short term tickets. The convenient thing about Oslo’s transit systems is that the busses, trams, and metro are all owned by the same company, Ruter. This is nice because you can purchase common fare tickets, allowing you to utilize all of the transit options. The website to plan your Oslo traveling is http://trafikanten.no/. When it comes to convenience and efficiency, the Norwegian public transit system is one of the best.
