Norsk Folkemuseum or Norwegian Museum of Cultural History is situated at Museumsveien 10, 0287 Oslo and is open daily from 11 to 3 except on the weekends when the timings are 11 to 4.
The museum gives you wide information about the history of Norway along with the culture and lifestyle of the Norwegian people. There are over 155 houses with numerous artifacts from all the major regions of the state.
The Open Air Museum displays several urban and rural buildings along with cultural activities and festivals. There is a Historic Playground and an old fashioned Grocery Store as well.
The permanent exhibits include the Folk Art, first half of the Parliament, Norwegian Folk Costumes, toys and others. The Norwegian Evening is an event held here in July and August where music, traditional dance, singing and other activities take place.
There are guided tours along with other educational facilities at the museum. One can refresh oneself at the coffee shop which serves light snacks as well.
