Many people in Norway believe that Oslo nightlife can only be done right with a bunch of money. This frequent misconception is the product of Oslo’s price variations at its popular bars and restaurants. The truth is there are several places in the city to go for a good time on a budget that is slim to thrifty.
The first place you should visit is Bør & Børsen, as it is a laid back place to grab a cocktail and get your night started. The prices are reasonable and the ambiance is pleasurable. After that, head on over to Dattera til Hagen in Oslo’s Grønland district. This café and restaurant has much to offer in the way of live music and themed dance parties. It also has a great back deck area where you can relax with friends and enjoy great Norwegian beer!
When you are ready to kick the night into high gear, head on over to Café Mono, where there are always many live shows. Several Norwegian up-and-coming rock stars frequent this place on a regular basis. This is also a great spot for cheap beer and a lively social scene of young people. When you’re ready for a frugal nightcap, meander on over to Café Art'é, where you can relax and have your last refreshment of the evening in an intimate back yard setting. Your pockets don't have to be deep to experience Oslo at night!
