Oslo has a vibrant night culture with many great places to go for drinking, dancing, and socializing. It has countless bars, cafes, and nightclubs that range from posh high-life to old-fashioned Norwegian fun. There are also several places that offer live music, and a stellar jazz scene.
The downtown bars are usually open until 3 am. While most of these venues allow people of all ages to enter during the day, at night they transform. In Oslo, different bars may practice a minimum age requirement of 18, 20, or 25, depending on the particular venue.
For colorful drinks and a beautiful panoramic view of Oslo and its fjord, go to 34 SkyBar. The bar is located on the 34th floor of Oslo’s Radisson Plaza Blu Hotel, has an age limit of 20, and can easily prove to be just what the glamour doctor ordered!
For a more “down-to-Earth” experience, head toward Bar 1, located on Stranden. This place offers 450 different types of cognac, and a great cigar collection. It also can accommodate private parties for up to 40 people. After that check out Buckley’s for live music of the blues, funk-rock, or soul persuasion. No matter which place you’re at, Oslo is sure to satisfy all of your nightlife needs.
