Tromso is a city on the Tromsoya Island in the northern part of Norway. This town of approximately 64,000 inhabitants is located beyond the Arctic Circle.
Weather in Tromso is uncertain especially during summer; most days are chilly with a light drizzle but there are occasional periods of sunny and pleasant weather. The average temperature is 12°C.
Tromso experiences both the midnight sun, when there is sunlight for more than 24 hours, and the polar night, when there is complete darkness for more than 24 hours.
It started off as a fishing port and served as a base for explorers to the Arctic region. It is also the location of the northernmost university in world. The vibrant and lively ambience of the town has earned it the nickname of ‘Paris of the North’.
