Torget is the central market area and from where most tourist attractions in Trondheim can e easily reached.
The Nidaros Cathedral is a must for the tourist, it is a perfect example of Norwegian classical architecture.
The bike lift situated at Bakklandet is another huge tourist attraction that you should not miss, especially when visiting in the summer. Trondheim was the first capital of Norway.
The Archbishop’s palace, situated next to the cathedral, is also a major tourist attraction.
May 17th is the Norwegian National Day and it is also a very good time to visit Trondheim as you can see a beautiful parade where the different costumes and culture of Norway is on display.
Trondheim is also the scientific centre of Norway with a very well known science university located here.
