Gdansk is famous for the National Art Museum. It is an art venue situated in a late-Gothic Franciscan monastery. The museum was opened in the year 1872. The site conducts art exhibitions on medieval Pomeranian fine arts, gold smithery, north-European and Gdansk furniture, and Flemish and Dutch paintings.
