The lack of old monuments is what makes Gdynia unique as a tourist destination. Although the thirteenth-century St. Michael Archangel’s Church and the seventeenth-century neo-Gothic mansion do have remarkable design, the ones which draw maximum tourist attention are Gdynia’s two famous ships moored at the Southern Pier—Dar Pomorza (sail ship) and Blyskawica (destroyer).
Also visit the Oceanographic Museum and the city’s Aquarium, while discovering the intricacies of ships and ship-building.
Do visit Gdynia during a festival. The Heineken Open’er Festival, Polish Feature Film Festival and Summer Jazz Days festival which draws celebrities and music artists from every nook and corner of the world, are exciting and provide and insight into the region’s culture.
Relax with nature at Orlowo or the Tri-city landscape park or the Kepa Redlowska Natural Reserve. Also enjoy a panoramic view of the city from Mount Kamienna Gora.
