The church of the Virgin Mary is also known as St. Mary’s Basilica and is a Brick Gothic church built in the 14th century.  This historic building is adjacent to the Main Market Square and stands 80 meter tall. It is popular for its wooden altarpiece which is carved by Veit Stoss. This building served as an architectural model for lots of churches which were built by the Polish Diaspora.
