Kazimierz has a sizable Jewish population of Krakow who moved here at the end of the 15th century, and served as the main cultural center of the Polish Jewry for centuries. It is ten minutes walk from the Royal Wawel Castle. Here, one can see the forgotten grandeur and impressive landmarks of Kazimierz, which was once the medieval twin town founded by King Kazimierz in 1335. This historical district is also known for being home to a Jewish community from the 14th century until the Second World War.
