Old Town Krakow or Krakow Stare Miasto is the central and historic district of Krakow in Poland. It is the most significant example of an Old Town in the country and also, because for many centuries, Krakow was the royal capital of Poland until Sigismund III Vasa relocated the Warsaw court in 1596. Old Krakow was added to the UNESCO World Heritage Sites in 1978. The entire district is bisected by the Royal Road, the route which was crossed by the Poland Kings. At present, it attracts visitors from all parts of the world.
