As anyone in Poznan can tell you, the locals are both thrilled and excited to be hosting the UEFA Euro tournament in 2012. Along with the prestigious honor of being a chosen city for the games, Poznan along with the rest of the country is getting a total facelift with new stadiums, horads and hotels sprouting faster than ever before.
Poznan’s stadium, Stadion Miejski seats over 43,000 spectators and is located on Bulgarska street in the Grunwald district of the city. The stadium reopened after a three-year construction period in June 2011.
During Euro 2012, three group matches are going to be played at the stadium. So far, there’s no information available on guided tours in English, although that’s likely to change closer to the tournament dates.
