The Raczynski Library

With one of the most interesting exterior facades in the city, Poznan’s Raczynski Library was founded by Polish conservative politician Edward Raczynski in 1822.  After completing construction in 1828 with the financial support of the Edward Raczynski foundation, it was one of the most well-known buildings in Poznan with classical features and a colonnade reminiscent of the eastern façade of the Louvre in Paris.

The library is home to several displays and exhibitions that chronicle the city’s most important literary heroes and artists.  Located on Plac Wolnosci, it is open seven days a week from 10:00am to 6:00pm and closes 4:00pm on Sundays.  For more information, or to schedule a guided tour, contact the library at +48 61 852 94 42.
