Poznan might as well be the cultural capital of Poland with its abundant number of museums, theaters and culture centers. The National Museum in Poznan (or the Muzeum Naradowe) is excellent for anyone who wants to check outs its rich collection of impressionistic works and modern Polish art, along with Italian, Dutch and Flemish imports.
Also interestingly, the museum holds the largest collection of Spanish art (with Zurbaran and Riveria) and is home to a Monet painting that was stolen in 2000 but quickly recovered (and was the pretext to a Polish film).
Some displays have both Polish and English descriptions about the artist and the topic. The museum is located on Aleje Korala Marcinkowskiego and admission is 12 zloty for adults, 8 zloty for children, with Saturdays being free. For more information, contact +48 61 856 80 00.
