There’s a reason why Poland has so many talented computer engineers and technology buffs, with Warsaw’s Museum of Technology dedicated to everything technological.  Established in 1955 and housed inside Warsaw’s Palace of Culture and Science (of which you’ll hear many locals moaning of how ugly the structure is), it is maze-like museum that will have you passing room after room of everything that from historical to modern technological displays.

Some of the exhibits include a French-built electric car for children dating back from 1955, space-like motorbikes and airplanes, a room dedicated to 19th century musical boxes and a 1951 MIG jet flight simulator.  Prepare though to get incredibly lost, as there’s no map to help guide you around the museum and very few descriptions are translated into English.  Although altogether interesting, the museum could use a serious upgrade.

The museum is located on Parade Square, right in the heart of Warsaw (take the Centrum subway stop).  Admission is 12 zloty for adults and 6 zloty for children.  Guided tours are also available for 50 zloty for 25 people or more.  For more information, contact +48 22 656 67 59.
