The Chopin Monument is by a small pond in the rose garden of Lazienki Park. It was unveiled in 1926 after fifty years of negotiation between many committees and associations. When Chopin’s music became illegal after the outbreak of World War II, this monument was torn down and had to be reconstructed after the War. During the summer time, there are free open air concerts which are held here every Sunday attracting crowds. This is the place where pianists give concerts to the park audience.
