The Lazienki Park dates back to the middle ages, when it was owned by the Masovian dukes. In early 17th century, the park contained a royal menagerie. Finally it reached its present layout in the 17th and 18th century. At present, it is one of the most beautiful urban parks in Warsaw. One can get to see peacocks next to the Lazienki water palace. The park is the perfect place for a leisure stroll in any season, especially in spring and summer. The park is also the former summer residence of King Stanislaw August Poniatowski.

Warsaw’s answer to Central Park in New York City, Lazienki Park is a marvelous 17th century park and the largest in the capital city with baroque classical-style gardens that lead to the Lazienki Palace. Loosely translated as Royal Baths Park, it is one of Warsaw’s best known attractions and has both small and big palaces, summer homes, pavilions, mansions, cafes, restaurants, lakes and theaters that allow for a full day of activities. It is also where the Chopin Concerts take place every summer, usually every Sunday between 12:00pm and 4:00pm. Although, unlike Central Park, you won’t be able to picnic here, so leave your favorite blanket and lunch basket at home. Admission is free.
