The Mokotow Neighborhood is home to Warsaw’s elite, and where many local celebrities and foreign ambassadors call home.  Although it is densely populated, the neighborhood is full of parks and green areas, making it the perfect place (next to Lazienki Park) to take a stroll on a warm summer day in Warsaw.

Mokotow’s history dates back to the middle ages, although it wasn’t officially incorporated into the capital until 1916.  Just like the Praga Neighborhood, the Mokotow area saw little damage during Warsaw’s destruction in World War II, and is even one of the few well-preserved areas in the city.

If you are looking to visit the area, check out the Galeria Mokotow shopping mall.  It’s Warsaw’s first shopping mall, with a great selection of brand named stores, restaurants, a movie cinema, fitness club, and even a bowling alley.
