Although it used to be a no-go zone for its crime-ridden reputation, the Praga Neighborhood in Warsaw has reinvented itself as the artsy bank on the east side of the Vistula River. No longer the sketchy neighborhood it used to be, it now has a hip, cool vibe brought by young artists in search of something different from the rest of the capital city.
The neighborhood’s history dates back to 1432, and was separated from the rest of Warsaw until the 18th century. Unlike the rest of the capital, Praga remained relatively untouched during World War II. During the city’s reconstruction period after the way, Praga was home to many ministries and public facilities.
