The University of Wroclaw has one of the richest histories of any of Poland’s institutions for higher learning. The largest school in the region, over 40,000 students are enrolled, with 9,000 graduating every year. The Aula Leopoldina (or the Auditorium Academicum) is a breathtaking baroque hall inside the University, conceived as the main representation hall between the years 1728-1732.
Aula Leopoldina is now mainly used as part of the University’s museum, as well as a place to check out the major college events. Beautifully rich and sculptural interior along with the historic atmosphere in the hall makes it definitely a place to visit if you are in the area. Admission is 4.50 zl per person, which also includes a visit to the 300 Years Exhibition and Mathematician’s Tower in the same building. For more information, contact +48 (71) 375 22 45.
