This museum pays tribute to Karol Szymanowski, one of Poland’s best known composers and pianists whose work was influenced by the music of Richard Wagner, Richard Strauss, and Max Reger. During 1930 to 1936, Szymanowski lived in the mountain resort town of Zakopane in a 19th century Zakopane Style house. Unless you’ve followed Szymanowski’s work, the museum will hold very little interest for the tourist passing by, with only a few rooms in the home dedicated to the life and work of the composer.
Located on ul. Kasprusie, the museum is open from 10:00am to 4:00pm daily, except on Mondays in which it is closed. Admission is 6 zloty for adults and 3 zloty for children (Sunday admission is free). Concerts are held inside the museum during the summer months. For more information, contact +48 18 201 34 94.
