Almost nine-kilometers long, the Koscieliska Valley is one of the most stunning and popular well-known valleys in the Western Tatra Mountains next to the nearby winter town of Zakopane. Once visited by treasure hunters and ore miners, these days the valley attracts thousands of tourists each year that have a chance to admire picturesque rock gates and limestone, whereas the upper part formed by the glacier differs in its shape and geological features.
One of the most charming corners of the Polish Tatra Mountains, the valley is mostly packed during the summer months of July and August and is about a 20 minute walk from the Ornak Mountain Hut and an over an hour away from the Kiry village. The best time to visit is during the early morning hours, when hikers are only welcomed although privileged vehicles and horse-drawn carriages occasionally pass by as well.
