It's a very good place to go lots of places to view and to eat. Near by lisbon you may see sintra and almada with cristo rei or in sintra with their castels and palaces. You have lots of places to stay in lisbom hotels or hostels with very good rate price - quality

Don't only stay in Lisbon, go to nearby Sintra, Estoril, Queluz and the great monasteries of Tomar, Alcobaha, Batalha. Also the famous Mafra described by the Nobel Prize winner Jose Saramago in the "Memorial of the Convent." It's a good idea to rent a car, it doesn't cost much and the roads are excellent.

It's very beautiful ... the surroundings included. There's a lot of everything, it's full of hotels to suit all budgets and restaurants to suit all tastes. Explore the city on foot, but if you need it, there is public transport (including a metro) which takes you to all the main points of the city. I highly recommend it to everyone because it's really worth it.

Nights are pleasant and safe. I always like to go back around the harbor and old town is very pleasant. The nightlife is diverse and you can choose where to go and what to see and what to take part in. During the day it's pleasant walk around the center. The shopping is good. For those who love art, there are plenty of museums, churches and cultural events.

After a day of culture, entertainment and good food a lot of people gather in the numerous bars of Bairro Alto. There are fantastic little bars and spontaneous people who want to have fun. When you eat out, choose fish, drink excellent port or Caipirinha and you will end up on the streets celebrating.

My boyfriend and I are passionate about Portuguese cuisine. And given the low prices of the restaurants we were able to indulge it a lot! I loved the codfish that you find in any shape, we discovered fine wines and we were able to understand the success of the pasties de Belem. Everything always tasted good in the spectacular and romantic atmosphere.

We ate very well but most of all we enjoyed the cod cooked in different ways, always accompanied by the excellent port, both light and dark. I recommend going to Porto to visit the huge "cellar" where they produce the port. Not to mention the beautiful ocean beaches, they're beautiful and vast.

Bring very comfortable shoes because there are a lot of hills. The weather is beautiful in August. Hot but windy. As for the food, we had excellent rice with seafood in a restaurant called uma rua in Sapateiros, 177. We paid very little, the people are not very kind at first glance, but I assure you it's worth it. Best to book.

Definitely in the summer, it's a port city and the weather is nice, you can enjoy one of the best European seafronts, on the Pacific! You will be delighted by a nice constant breeze and you won't say it's muggy, this is typical of other places near the sea! Nearby it's full of castles in a medieval style ... simply WONDERFUL!!

Take the metro and tram, walk up the hill where you'll see the famous historic Alfama streetcars, not to mention the famous elevadores which lead to the miradores (viewpoints), there are cheap daily or multi-day tickets for all the transport. You can take a beautiful cruise on the Tagus. A taxi from the airport (near the center) is cheap, at about 10 Euros.

I recommended a day trip to the beautiful Evora, a hundred miles from Lisbon (a day is quite sufficient given that the city is very small). You can use a very efficient bus service that takes you to the city within two hours. All buses depart from the main station and they are frequent. The cost is around €10 return.

It's a really nice capital, it's fun. I was very impressed with its streets, trams, cakes, cruises. It's worth going to spend a nicem week. Don't forget the many events organized by the city and the contemporary art exhibitions.

The best time to visit is in June when the temperature is mild/hot, but not stifling. You can dress lightly and then take a suitcase full of extra clothes: the perfect time would be the first fifteen days of June, when it isn't busy with tourists, as in the following two months. There are many places to visit: a magical city.

It's one of the few capitals where you don't need to take tour buses for sightseeing, in fact, get on bus number 28 .... and you'll see the best sites from an ordinary vehicle! You can eat fish on a budget, you'll see the river, the ocean, the city, the history, the peoples and the cultures all come together ... to the ends of the earth!

It's a city where two souls coexist : modernity (in the neighborhood of the Expo) and tradition (in the most central districts, Alfama and Baixa). Beautiful views, friendliness and good cuisine/pastries make Lisbon a must-see.

The best value for the money. Very cheap accomodation, food and transportation and a lot of places to see. The significant minus for continental Portugal is the fact that you can not swim, not even in august (water temperature is not more than 18 C), but is very good for surfers.

Its coasts situated on the Atlantic Ocean, allowed to visit Lisbon in spring, summer and in the first part of autumn to have funny experience. Summer comes soon, so people start going to the sea on April.
You cannot give up to visit Belem Tower, the new aquarium and Edoardo park; Lisbon has lots places to go to, as Barrio alto, Alfama and Baixa. One of the most important museum is Calouste Gulbenkian.
The intense smell of fried fish fills Lisbon’s streets; basic ingredients are: fish, meets, soup and sweets. Wine has an important role in Portuguese food: dry and sweet Barolo ... More is the most requested.
The climate is a continental kind with strong winter and warm temperatures in the summer from june to july in any case, it is always a windy city.

Lisbon is set on a seven hills, its population is about 665000.
Restaurants are everywhere and in the evening entry is free; they are crowded of people who look for serenity.
At the night fun is developed around the port.
Lisbon is a small town: you can visit it by feet in few days. Lisbon is recovered by azulejos little blue tiles, introduced by arabs and used in a decorative way. The city is a mix of cultures, arabs, rinascimental, barocs and libety; her buildings are the real example.
Centre is crossed by large, planted with trees streets, with open-bars ... More and buildings in art-nouveau.
The city is divided in two parts, linked by elevator and bus.
The peaceful atmosphere and the cultural variety, made Lisbon one of the most pleasant European cities; and also is a chip place and a focal point to organize tours in other place of Portugal.

A week in Lisbon leaves a pleasant taste in your mouth for the rest of your life. A mix of the Old; Belem, Bairro Alto, Alfama and the New; Parque das Nacoes, UNESCO Heritage sites; Sintra and its Palaces & Castles and UNESCO classified; FADO, Poetry and Guitars strung together in a melancolic cocktail of sorrow, heartbreak, and Saudades. Food & Brink is a fraction of the price in Sydney, Australia.
