Rating:

The Museum of Chiado was founded in 1911 as the National Museum of Contemporary Art and is located at the centre of Lisbon. It was again redesigned in 1994 by Jean Michel Willmotte French.

This museum displays a collection of Portuguese art since 1850. Some of the fascinating collections are videos, sculpture and paintings, which illustrates the development from Romanticism to Modernism. The other attractive features of the museum include temporary exhibitions which are held in a separate exhibition space, a good café to brunch and ta errace to view the city.
