Ourém municipality, situated in Portugal, is spread in an area of 416.6 square kilometers. Composing of 18 parishes, it is situated in Santarem district.
This municipality has two cities, Ourem and Fatima, dating back to the middle Age. Once here, one can visit the mighty Castle Ourém. Until its elevation to being a city in 1991, it was known as “Vila Nova de Ourem”.
This city is mostly visited by tourists for its ruined castle and for its beautiful palace, dating back to the Moorish occupation, which began in the 8th century. This municipality has a few cultural attractions, which are worth visiting.
