The Igreja Sao Francisco is also known as Church of Saint Francis in English and was built around 1244. It is the most well-known Gothic monument in Oporto in Portugal. This historic building is noted for its amazing Baroque inner decorations. The building is also declared as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization). This church has a nave with three aisles, wherein the central aisle is the highest one. The main façade of the church has a large rose window in Gothic style architectural design.
