Torre dos Clerigos is a bell tower which is a part of the Clergios Church. This tower was built between the period 1731 and 1763. This historic building is known as the magnum opus of baroque architecture in Porto. The Italian architect of this tower is Nicolau Nasoni. This monument is even considered as a National Monument since 1910. It is also a part of Oporto ’s historic center, a UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization) World Heritage Site. This tower is also the highest church tower in Portugal and one of the landmarks of Porto.
