Torreira is situated on a strip of sandy terrain separating the Ria de Averio from the Atlantic Ocean. This is a beautiful lively little resort town filled with holiday makers especially during the summer months. This town is famous for its odd dwellings called as palheiros, which are fashioned from the old hulls of boats. One can visit the idyllic seaside places, with the long sandy coastline attracting many visitors daily to relax or enjoy one of the water sports activities like windsurfing and sailing.
