Bucharest: Attractions and more...
Bucharest has an amazing array of architectural wonders to amaze all those that enter the city. Among the most popular is the Parliament Palace (the second largest administrative building in the world; the Pentagon being the largest).
The Village Museum is one of the world’s first open-air museums containing about 300 traditional structures like churches, mills etc. as well as samples displaying the traditional way of life around Romania. If you visit the beautiful Museum of the Romanian Peasant at the right time, you can witness a traditional crafts festival taking place.
The Stavropoleos Church (with some exquisite sculptures), the Curtea Veche Church (the coronation site of many European princes) and the Plumbuita Monastery (which has a religious objects museum as well as a park) are fine examples of true Roman architecture.
