Budget Night

For a party on a budget, Bucharest is a great option. Beer comes in at the paltry cost of somewhere between US$0.50-3, depending on the type of establishment. Entrance fees are inexpensive compared to those in the West, ranging from nothing to US$1.50. What’s more if you’re into clubbing then the concentration of numerous nightclubs in or around the historic centre makes club-hopping an option without the wasted expense of endless taxi rides between good venues.
If you’re looking for something a little more cultural or at least slightly more on the down-low then there is an excellent folk music and dancing scene. It is performed in restaurants serving traditional Romanian cuisine such as Burebista Vanatores, Strada Batistei 14, and La Mardare, Calea Grivitei 32. Laptaria Lui Enache is a more standard bar but is also excellent at what it does and it has an added dash of exclusivity without the extra cost which this would normally entail. Entered through an unmarked door on the left side of the central theatre then by lift to the fourth floor, it has an impressive new outdoor roof terrace, with film screenings and live bands on weekends.
The top tip for this city though must be the particular Bucharest trend for Belgian beer halls, such as La Belle Époque, Strada Aviator Radu Beller 6.
