Bucharest’s nightlife has an awful lot to offer. Clubs vary between hip-hop haunts spinning the latest sounds to the glamorous and suave big clubs where the dance floors are are punctuated by furiously flashing lights, where Romania’s well-off go to let off steam. When you add to this that there are no licencing hours in Romania, nor is there a legal drinking age (though you must be over 18 to buy alcohol in a bar), you have the recipe for a cocktail that will make any night burn bright.
One great way to kick off the night stylishly is to head to one of the cities casino, remember to dress well and bring proof of age such as a passport (again 18 is the legal minimum). US Dollars or Lei can be used as currency for chips. The lavish Palace Casino is in the Monte-carlo style and also boasts a fantastic retauarant, it can be found on Calea Victoriei 133-135. Try out the ultra-stylish Victoria Casino on Calea Victoriei number 174, famed for its cabaret show.
Later on when things get a bit wild head for the chic Club Sugar, which has the strictest dress code in town and is the favoured spot of Bucharest’s young and wealthy.
