In Bucharest there is an additional charge on photography and video shooting at almost all tourist attractions. Make sure to find out about the charges and pay them if you plan to take photographs as the penalty for not paying is quite high.

Therefore do not trust anyone who claims to be from the tourist police. When using a taxi always request the meter be turned on and pay the fare on the meter.

There are many stray dogs in Bucharest; it is best to keep away from them. Small children begging for money is a common sight around the many churches. They tend to follow you around, but, the local government does not recommend giving money to them.
