The central square of the city called Victory Square has the Opera House on one side and the fascinating ancient Cathedral on the other, both are worth visiting.
There are many new complexes in the city which blend harmoniously with the old ones.
There are a number of bars and open air restaurants which have sprung up along the rivers banks in Timisoara. They are excellent places to relax in the evening and listen to live music as well.
The parks, jazz clubs and cultural ambience of the University centre is something which attract you attention here.
You can visit the Beer Factory in Timisoara where food as well as drink is available and the beer is excellent.
For those who are interested in archaeology, natural sciences, history and ethnography do visit the Banat Museum which is situated inside Huniade Castle.
